Datacentre220 achieves ISO27001 certification and strengthens its role as New Zealand’s most trusted colocation provider

ISO27001 certification confirms DC220's commitment to secure, trusted colocation for New Zealand.

Datacentre220 has achieved ISO27001:2022 certification, confirming that our security practices, controls and governance meet one of the most rigorous international standards. This is an important milestone for our business and for every customer that relies on us to keep their infrastructure, data and operations safe.

ISO27001 has become the benchmark for organisations that want assurance that their information security management systems are complete, tested and independently audited. For data centres, it is even more important with customers placing their critical systems into facilities they do not own or control, so the trust they place in the operator must be supported by evidence. Certification gives customers clear and independent confirmation that the site they choose is operating to a proven and repeatable standard.

Datacentre220’s certification covers our entire information security framework, from physical controls and monitoring to operational processes, incident management, vendor oversight and governance. The audit process assessed the effectiveness of our controls, our risk management approach and the way our team embeds these practices into daily operations. It validates the investment we have made into creating a mature and disciplined security environment that supports every customer in our facility.

Security expectations have changed rapidly over the past few years. Organisations of all sizes now face tighter compliance requirements, higher cyber risk and more scrutiny from boards and regulators. Choosing a data centre that has not been independently audited can introduce uncertainty into their own compliance posture. Certification gives customers confidence that their infrastructure sits within a structured and rigorously tested environment. It also reduces the internal burden on their teams, as many of the controls they rely on from us can be inherited directly into their own assessments and frameworks.

The certification also reflects the work our operations and engineering teams have put into refining processes, updating documentation and ensuring our practices align with the expectations of international auditors. It highlights the culture of discipline and accountability within Datacentre220, which continues to guide how we grow the business, build new services and support customers.

Ross Delaney, CEO of Datacentre220, says the certification reinforces the trust customers place in the company. “Security has always been core to our service. ISO27001 gives our customers clear proof that we operate with the level of discipline and maturity they expect from a mission critical environment. When organisations choose a colocation partner, they want certainty that the site is safe, well governed and professionally managed. This certification confirms that we meet that standard.”

The certification also aligns with the growing demand for sovereign, compliant and well governed digital infrastructure in NewZealand. As more organisations adopt hybrid architectures and shift critical workloads back into high quality colocation sites, they are becoming more selective about the facilities they use. They want consistent controls, transparent practices and a team that treats security as a core service and not an afterthought. ISO27001 is a standard that customers can rely on when evaluating these choices.

For Datacentre220, this forms part of a broader programme focused on continual improvement, operational excellence and strategic investment. We are expanding our infrastructure capability, upgrading core systems and building out new services that support customers that need LocalScaler capability and high availability environments. The certification provides the governance foundation for this growth and ensures that every new development is backed by the same strong security posture.

We see our role as more than simply providing racks, power and cooling. Customers choose Datacentre220 because they want a dependable and well governed environment that becomes a stable foundation for their own growth. Achieving ISO27001 reinforces that commitment and ensures we continue to operate with the discipline required of a modern data centre.

Our team will continue working through internal reviews, management cycles and improvement programmes to maintain this certification in the years ahead. As security expectations evolve, so will we. Customers can expect ongoing investment, clear visibility of our controls and the assurance that our site and our practices are assessed regularly by trusted third parties.
